Hangzhou, 1-4 September 2026. Gerakan koperasi Indonesia hadir lewat dua jalur di Asia Pacific Cooperative Youth Summit (APCYS) 5.0 di Hangzhou, Tiongkok. Koperasi anggota inKUR, KJMP Sasuka Teknologi Indonesia, bertanding di Coop Pitch hingga babak final, sementara CEO inKUR, Paulus Ohio, berbicara di sesi pleno tentang koperasi di era ekonomi digital dan kecerdasan buatan (AI).
APCYS 5.0 diselenggarakan oleh International Cooperative Alliance Asia and Pacific (ICA-AP) bersama Komite Kerja Sama Pemuda (ICYC), dengan tuan rumah All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC) dan Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade (ZJIET), serta didukung Kemitraan ICA-Uni Eropa.
Sasuka Teknologi Indonesia Menembus Final Coop Pitch

Plenary Jam: Bagaimana inKUR Memakai AI

Hangzhou, 1-4 September 2026. The Indonesian cooperative movement took part on two fronts at the Asia Pacific Cooperative Youth Summit (APCYS) 5.0 in Hangzhou, China. inKUR member cooperative KJMP Sasuka Teknologi Indonesia competed in the Coop Pitch all the way to the final, while inKUR’s CEO, Paulus Ohio, spoke in a plenary session on cooperatives in the digital economy and the age of artificial intelligence (AI).
APCYS 5.0 was organised by the International Cooperative Alliance Asia and Pacific (ICA-AP) and its Committee on Youth Cooperation (ICYC), hosted by the All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC) and the Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade (ZJIET), with support from the ICA-EU Partnership. Some 130 young cooperators, policymakers, technologists, and cooperative leaders from 13 countries gathered under the theme "Future-Ready Cooperatives: Youth Shaping Ethical AI and Digital Economies". This year also marked ten years of APCYS, which was first held in Bali, Indonesia, in 2016.
Sasuka Teknologi Indonesia Reaches the Coop Pitch Final
The Coop Pitch is a competition of cooperative business ideas for young people across the Asia-Pacific. Of the 24 teams shortlisted from 13 countries, Indonesia was represented by one team: KJMP Sasuka Teknologi Indonesia. The team made it into the final round of just nine teams, competing with teams from China, Fiji, India, Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Palestine.

The Sasuka team was led by Hutri Nuryani, Secretary and Chief Marketing Officer of KJMP Sasuka Teknologi Indonesia, together with Putri Nawang Wulan. They presented an AI-based Smart Cooperative Platform to support the digital transformation of cooperatives: a chatbot for member services, transaction analytics, product recommendations, and a management assistant for boards. The idea responds to problems familiar to many Indonesian cooperatives: business processes that are not yet integrated, data that goes unused, and member services that are still manual.
The message the Sasuka team carried was in line with the summit’s theme. As Hutri put it, technology must strengthen cooperative principles, not replace them. Besides the Coop Pitch, Sasuka also took part in the Youth Open Mic and Story Circle, sharing how digital transformation can make cooperatives more inclusive, connected, and resilient.

That spirit continued after Hangzhou. On 17 September 2026, Sasuka held the conversation "From APCYS to Action" with the DIY Provincial Office of Cooperatives and SMEs to carry ideas from the summit into the youth cooperative movement in Yogyakarta.
Plenary Jam: How inKUR Uses AI
On 2 September 2026, Paulus Ohio joined the Plenary Jam: Future-Ready Cooperatives in the Digital Economy at the ZJIET Auditorium, alongside Ho Wei Liang (Global Youth AI Advisory Body), Song Dongpo (founder, MiFly Airline Coop, China), and Dulce Bustamante Delmo (Chairperson, ICYC), moderated by Yuyu Chen of UNRISD.
The Plenary Jam at the ZJIET Auditorium. The screen shows a live audience poll: by 2035, what share of cooperative operations will be powered by AI?
Paulus began from the reality on the ground. Most inKUR member cooperatives are in rural areas, where digital access used to be difficult. Today, with the help of AI, cooperative boards and managers can reach the tools they need to run their businesses and serve members far more easily. Financial records, membership data, and transactions that were once done by hand and often lost are now cleaner, with far fewer errors.
At inKUR itself, AI is already used in almost half of its managerial work. But Paulus stressed that AI is always a tool, never a replacement. Everything AI produces is checked manually, and decisions are still made through discussion between people and institutions, with reason and conscience, and only then polished with the help of AI.
One thing, he said, must be protected: data. Data is like money in an invisible form, extremely valuable and dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands. That is why inKUR is building a centralized data system that the cooperatives themselves own and design, instead of depending on outside parties. Through inKUR Link, built together with Sasuka Teknologi Indonesia, member cooperatives such as Koperasi Keling Kumang Union, Koperasi Keling Kumang Agro, and Koperasi Keling Kumang Tampun Juah are now connected in a single data system, a foundation for using AI safely in members’ businesses.
Paulus closed with the line that ran through his remarks: let AI set the pace, but keep the data ours and the decisions human.

Workshops, Policy Hack, and Field Visits
Over four days, participants also joined workshops to build AI-powered dashboards and websites for cooperatives, a Policy Hack Dialogue to design ethical AI policy proposals, and visits to Alibaba, iFlytek, and the Hangzhou Sixiang Agricultural Professional Cooperative. The Coop Pitch was won by Reframing Architects Cooperative (Palestine), followed by Chongxing Technology (China) and Chuc Son Smart Growth Cooperative (Vietnam).
The Message Brought Home
From Hangzhou, the strongest message was a simple one: putting AI into a business model does not automatically make it cooperative. What matters is which values the technology serves and how much of its benefit returns to members. Sasuka’s run in the Coop Pitch and the way inKUR uses AI point in the same direction: technology built together, owned together, and used to strengthen members’ businesses.
inKUR is the national federation of real-sector cooperatives, legally established in May 2017, headquartered in Pontianak, and a member of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA). KJMP Sasuka Teknologi Indonesia is an inKUR member cooperative working in technology.
